Guh. This week/last 5 days has been pure chaos.

So... I suppose I'll start with Friday.

Got up hideously early so that I could get to school, get on a bus, and drive for three hours to Leamington, Ontario for an IPM field trip. We went to a Pepper greenhouse that was so big that you couldn't see the far wall. It was insane.

Three hours back to the university, got back at 6:30 pm. Went right to the Ontario Vet College cafeteria, where we were setting up for College Royal. They started at 3:00 in the afternoon, and so I joined in.

We didn't leave campus until 3:30 am.

Got home, had to bathe Smudge (my ferret) and cut his nails so he'd be all pretty and perfect for the crowds.

Went to bed at 4:15, woke up at 6:15, and headed back to campus to finish setting up.

Crowds started arriving at 9:00, and wow, it was a crazy, crazy day. I was in the Invertebrates section pretty much the whole time, showing kids the Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches and the Giant African Millipedes. It was really fun, although I really, really dislike a lot of mothers. One (rather hilarious) mother looked around, saw the bugs, clutched her baby to her and full-out ran through the Invert section through to the (relative safety) of the mammals. Oh, boy did I laugh. Another (irritating) mother wouldn't let her very enthusiastic 3-year-old touch the cockroach I was holding. There was nothing wrong with the bug. It was clean, it was staying on my hands, it doesn't have wings OR teeth, so it SERIOUSLY can't do a single thing to you. Ugh. Towards the end of the day (around 4:30-ish), I was ready to throw something at the next person that exclaimed (as if they were the first) "HEY! Isn't that what they EAT on Fear Factor!?". Yes, it is. No, you may not eat it. Stop pretending to, it's my pet. Stupid people. :/

But overall, even through 2 hours sleep, 10 minutes of sitting all day, 1 nalgene of water, a ziploc bag of cheerios as breakfast and lunch all-in-one, and the stupid people, it was an awesome experience. Teaching kids about bugs is really, really fun.

Sunday, I had to work. Was stupid tired and sore from the day before.

Monday, I had my Principles of Learning midterm. I hate that prof with a fiery passion. What a bastard. His exams are stupid, and I hate him for it.

Today, I had my Criminological Theory midterm, which was ok, considering there were two questions, both "Regurgitate this chapter of the textbook...".

I'm supposed to be writing my Nature Interpretation Walk Plan right now... but I can't muster the effort to care. I hate that class, a lot. Too bad this report (which is going to be about 10-12 pages) is due tomorrow at midnight, and I don't think I'll have any time to do it tomorrow. I have no idea what I'm going to do. I was supposed to write the whole thing today, after my midterm. *headdesk* I'm just stupid like that.

Oh, and I bought Seasons 7 & 8 of SG-1 over the last couple weeks... and so I'm rewatching a whole bunch of episodes, which is SO good for the work ethic. Jenn, Ange, Libby and I all had papers to write today... so, naturally, we all gather in the places where the least work is being done. We migrated to Jenn's room for some Grey's Anatomy, and Ange's for some 24, and then Jenn, Ange and I all got into my bed and watched Heroes Parts I & II. And Jenn and Ange don't even watch SG-1. Jenn hasn't EVER seen it, and was like "Ummm... whats a stargate? What's happening? Offworld? WHAT?" Oh boy, the joys of procrastination. ;)

bug geek!, school, stargate sg-1, babble
