I have been treated to an amazing Valentine's day. Even though this is the first Valentine's Day I have been involved in a relationship other than when I was in college and that one time the relationship was on it's very last legs.
I was allowed to sleep in as much as you can with two children in the house. He kept the oldest one downstairs until the youngest one awoke and got me up. When he ran out to the store he took Joe along so I could quietly make it through the morning rituals required for Elizabeth.
He fixed me Belgian Waffles with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, maple sausage and eggs. He even went so far as to get me ruby red grapefruit juice with pulp because he knows that's my preference.
He ran out later to make deliveries to the grandparents and took Joe along so I could relax while Elizabeth was down for her nap. I finished the breakfast clean up and ran the dishwasher before I curled up with a book for a little bit. While doing the kitchen clean up I found the mushy card he had gotten me, and proceeded to cry because it was so sweet. (Those Blue Mountain Cards tend to be like that).
When he got back from his errands he gave me my flowers. I know his errands included a run out to the cemetary to leave a rose at his late wife's grave. He was hurting when he got home, and despite the fact he hasn't told me he went there I'm pretty sure that was one of his stops. I got a beautiful bouquet that included roses, carnations, daisies, gerber daisies, and the lily like flowers. He also gave me a card with kermit the frog that he knew I'd find the humor in.
At 9 PM, while he was at work, the neighbor across the street came knocking with a gift and another card for me. The gift was a Willow Tree figurine titled Quietly. It shows a "mother" with her arm around a standing child and a Toddler sized child sitting on her lap with their heads together. The statement that goes with the title is Quietly encircled by love.
I also found a card hidden under my pillow with a sexy invitation for me.... I have to identify the scent he's put on it.... so far I am unable to. Thought it was his deoderant but I was wrong so I'll have to smell other things until I figure it out.
It has been a wonderful day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
