brief update...
Right now things are at a status quo for my friend. He is trying to get the counselor in to see his wife sooner rather than later as she is starting to adopt a defeatist attitude. The baby had an appointment with her pulmonologist today and he said she is holding her own. Likely the baby will remain on the oxygen through the spring. My friend is encountering some challenges dealing with his 4 year old. His son is a normal active child who is starting to exhibit neediness. My friend is going to focus on giving his son some one on one time to see if that helps the situation. Over new years my friend sent his mother a letter telling her he needed her to be a mother not a dictator..... it was worded better than that, but it's a good summary. Today he got a reply from his mother essentially saying since what I'm doing isn't good enough then good bye. God I'd like to wring that woman's neck.
