Deadwood - 3x06 - A Rich Find
It's different watching Deadwood every week and not having to wait until the season DVDs come out. Watching one episode a week instead of all of them at once is weird too. My thoughts on Deadwood usually take forever to form, but oh damn, Charlie (Dayton Callie) was absolutely amazing in the first scene.
There's always such a sense of politeness between the Bullocks, as well as the Bullocks and Swearengen.
They refer to Seth Bullock as a "maniac" a lot.
I really hate George Hearst. I honestly dispise his character. The actor certainly accomplishes making me hate him. With Cy, I dislike him, but his character and motivations interests me. With Hearst, I think he's the biggest piece of shit ever born and I don't want to know why.
Leon's one of my least favorite characters, but I do see how much it took for him to do what he did.
Drinking with Jane is basically becoming friends with her and drinking straight from the bottle after her is required.
I love Richardson.
Hearst: How's the finger? [holds up middle finger]
Al: Alright, Mr. Hearst. [Hearst walks away]
Bullock: How's the fucking ear?
Al: Good, Bullock, good...
How many times is Joanie going to have invite Jane to stay with her before Jane stays? Everyone keeps doing the same things, making the same mistakes, thinking it's going to turn out right this time. Alma's the worst, thinking a second marriage lacking love on her part is going to turn out better than the first. The Ellsworth marriage is similiar to the beginning of the Bullocks' marriage in that it's partly for the good of the child having a parent.
There's so many layers to an episode and a lot of them don't even unfold until several episodes later. After watching an episode of Deadwood, I always get a feeling of "this can't end well".
I'm thinking about doing a Doctor Who vid of the Doomsday episode to Silent Night by Damien Rice (Lisa Hannigan), but I'm not sure yet because there's so many out there right now... so for now:
(
1024x768 .
800x600)
Hmm, when will spoilers for Doomsday not be considered spoilers?
Gnarls Barkley released
their music video for Smiley Faces and it's amazing. Dennis Hooper and Dean Stockwell were perfect and the concept, as well as execution, are great.
