Festivids Recs for 2015
I love watching all of the festivids on the first day in alphabetical order. I'm doing my recs differently. I thought putting them into categories would be more meaningful than making one list of what I liked. I thought this year had some really amazing vids and overall I thought the collection was strong too. I loved all the vids people made for me and I get emotional thinking about people putting time and effort into a vid for me.
MINE, MINE, MINE
Least Favorite Life (Byzantium) - I'm so happy someone used my oddly specific song request for a vaguely feminist vampire movie. The time periods are well mixed. Excellent use of the movie on tv within the movie. The ending is perfection too.
Cake to Bake (Great British Bake Off) - I actually got misty and cried a little when watched. I can't believe someone actually made me a GBBO vid. And it's good and I love it! The song is amazing and the editing captures so many great moments from the show. The pacing and structure is so delicately constructed. Very smart editing choices to illustrate the mechanics of the source.
Bitch Puddin's Fuckin' Theme Song (Robot Chicken) - I FUCKING LOVE THIS VID FOREVER. THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD BITS AND IT'S REALLY AMAZING THAT IT'S SO GOOD BECAUSE THE SOURCE IS VERY LIMITED AND NOT COHESIVE SO THE VIDDER IS VERY TALENTED AND I HOPE THAT I'M FRIENDS WITH THEM ALREADY. I DOUBT THAT ANYONE BUT SOMEONE WHO IS ALREADY MY FRIEND WOULD GO THROUGH THE EFFORT OF MAKING IT. I SERIOUSLY LOVE THEM. STRANGER OR NOT. THEY'RE MY NEW FAVORITE TAMPON POPSICLE FUCKFACE.
