Yesterday was the anniversary of me!  Yesterday I became a quarter of a century old.  Yesterday was my birthday.

Thanks to all that got in touch with me to wish me a happy birthday!  It was much appreciated.  Don't worry about it if you didn't, chances are you forgot and that's ok!  I'm generally really bad with birthdays too.

Nothing too exciting happened for my birthday.  But here are all the highlights  I was in Pittsburgh for the weekend helping execute a surprise party for Mara - a college friend.  But in a way it was like a little present to me because I also got to see a lot of the people I care about.  Mommy made my favorite dinner, Randi (my boss/friend) took me to lunch and gave me an engraved silver business card holder, Mommy and Daddy gave me a sweater (I know, I know shocker) as well as cash to put towards my "I want a digital camera/iPod/laptop" fund, my sisters both called me (both also apologized for late gifts... ah the joys of having a bday close to MLK day), Befers gave me a bag full of fun and random gifts (it was my Christmas/Birthday gifts), I've not learned to Crochet, Cassie and LB are taking me out to dinner tonight for my bday, this Friday I think a bunch of drinks will be in order with Tauren and April.  Anything else goes!  I've been blessed with great friends and family!

On a side note: I really need to work on my petty-ness.  I really get annoyed when people just jump into conversations/insidejoke/invitations and just make them their own.  Seriously it's been a pet peeve of mine since I was a child.  It's like "Look, you weren't a part of this/invited to this/asked to join in so why in the world are you taking ownership?  Why are you forcing yourself into this as if it was your idea/you were never really asked "in" to begin with?  Why are you trying to make it about you when it never was?  But then I take a look at my attitude and realize that I'm being petty.  No, the person never was initially invited into conversation/joke/event/thing, but why is it bothering you so much?  It's obvious that they just want to feel as if they belong and that's not a bad thing.  Then I feel sorry for the person who can't seem to figure out when they're doing these things and then I end up twisting it into a big ball of anger/annoyance/pity/guilt.  It's just gross.  Seriously this happens in my professional and personal life.  Friends and even family.   I think I'm just stressed about work and things I'm planning, but still this stinks!

I need to learn to let things go.  How do you just let things go?
