Say Cheese!

So for our fondue, I need to pick up some cheese. Gruyere and emmenthaler to be precise. I'd prefer to go w/ fresh cut rather than prepackaged grocery store stuff, though I'm sure I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them. I found one place that had each for $14.99 a pound. I find that cheese is really cheap at Trader Joe's compared to the other grocery stores around here. Every "name brand" cheese I buy I get there because it's usually about 30-50% cheaper than the regular grocers. The last time I compared, the Dubliner Irish cheese I like was about $6/pound cheaper than the regular grocers, Boursin was $3.50 cheaper at TJs and the Cheve was $2- all were the exact same brands at both stores.

May be worth a look.

The cost of these fancier cheeses is probably why I haven't yet tried to make a cheese fondue. For my first outing I think I'll be sticking to some cheaper recipes :) Good luck!
