The things I remember (AoixKai, Oneshot, 1.5 Lost)

This one was...pretty hard to write, and somehow it reminded me a bit of my other writing, but ...yeah>.>;
Summary: Forgetting the way in a forest wasn't something planned on Kai's calendar. But it wasn't his fault he had to remember everything for everyone.

Another turn was made and Aoi sighed. They had been walking around for a while already, the guitarist following Kai without a question. Kai had told him he wanted to show Aoi some place special. But so far, all Aoi had seen were old houses and trees.
When Kai stopped on a crossing what seemed like the thousand time already, Aoi finally gave up on hopping they’d get there before the end of their summer break(which was 2 more weeks)
“I really thought it was this way...” Kai muttered to himself, staring from the left path to the right, trying to figure out which one to take.
“You’re kidding me right? Why didn’t you just take a map along?” Aoi asked, getting frustrated. Sometimes he really didn’t understand his lover.
“I figured I’d remember the way after going there so often” He replied, head hanging down in embarrassment.
“You thought you’d remember?” The older asked in disbelief while the drummer slowly nods.
“For gods sake Kai! You of all people! You’d even forget putting on your own pants! How could you possibly think you’d remember this thing?!” Aoi finally snaps. If there’s one thing he dislikes, it’s being lost in a forest.
“I just thought...”
“No Kai, that’s the problem here. You shouldn’t be just thinking! You should be sure! You should’ve taken a map along. We wouldn’t even be stranded here if you would just think about THAT instead of figuring you’d remember!”
“Look, I’m sorry okay?! It’s not like it’s my own choice to forget stuff easily!” Kai had enough. He had enough of others always complaining that he forgot stuff so fast. It was not only his fault! If others just would stop giving him so many things to remember, if others would just remember their own things instead of expecting Kai to remember it for them, maybe then he’d remember other things too!
“Just fuck you Aoi” He shouted, pushing Aoi away from him, the other stumbled and fell to the ground, while Kai turned around and ran way down one of the paths. Tears filling his eyes. Not caring where he was running as long as it was away from Aoi and his stupid complaining.

Staring after the drummer in shock, Aoi didn’t moved from his spot on the ground. Wincing at the pain in his behind from the harsh landing.
With a sigh he rubbed his head. He knew he shouldn't have been that mean. Kai had only wanted to show him one of his special places and the guitarist knew well enough that the other’s forgetfulness was a very sensitive point.
Shaking his head he got up and ran down the path Kai had taken, hoping to catch up with him. When the path stopped and disappeared into the bushes that were slightly pushed aside, Aoi slowed down. “Kai?” He asked unsure, walking through the bushes.
The view infront of him wasn’t what he had expected. Behind the bushes laid fields of sunflowers, stretching as far as his eyes could reach. Small river streams running down the hill through the sea of yellow. A breath taking sight, honestly.
Aoi looked around him, searching for the younger man. His eyes finally found the others figure sitting on a old tree trunk on top of the hill.
“See...I remembered it after all....” The drummer mumbled as Aoi sat down next to him. He could only nod softly.
“I’m sorry Kai. You don’t really forget everything. You remember everything for others but just sometimes fail to think about yourself...”
Kai looked up with teary eyes “You really think so?”
With another nod Aoi continued “ Yes, you never forget what I or the others like for food or drinks. What stuff we need, our birthdays. Anything. You always make sure everyone has their things before leaving while forgetting about your own. I guess it’s what makes you so special...” His sentences ended in a whisper as he hugged Kai close, placing a kiss on the others nose.
“I love you with your forgetfulness and all your other weird habits and stuff. It’s make you the person who you are” A smile crept on Kai’s face as he shook his head.
“I love you too Aoi. Even if you have the worst temper I’ve ever known”
“I do not have a bad temper!!” Aoi shouted as Kai laughed, got up, and ran into the sunflower field, Aoi following close behind. He made a sprint and finally grabbed a hold of Kai’s arm, tugging him close.
“It’s okay Aoi, I love you anyway....Actually! It’s quite a turn on” Kai grinned, wrapping his arms around the other.
“And what is that supposed to mean?!”
“That you look absolutely hot when mad” And innocent smile was shown but it could not fool Aoi.
“Oh do I now?” He muttered as he gently pushed Kai down to the ground, sitting on top of him. But before he got to do anything, the younger swiftly rolled them over, kissing him passionately and there was no way Aoi would complain.
The sun was already hitting the edge of the hill top, casting a golden glow over the couple. But also announcing the arrival of the night. Kai pulled away from Aoi, pecking his lips softly before getting back onto his feet.
“Well. We better get going back before it’s too dark to see” He spoke up with a chipper voice, making Aoi groan in frustration.
“Do we really have to?”
“Unless you wanna get lost again, in a soon to be dark forest, yes.”
Aoi pouted, following Kai back into the forest. Even tho he wanted Kai, he figured he could wait till they were back at his place...Or in the car. Either way would work.
And when the drummer once again forgot which turn to go, Aoi was glad he had carved the trees on their way to the sunflower field earlier that day.
