Roommate from HELLLLLLLLL
As always you all (my friends) know that I don’t post much. When I do post it’s usually when something has been so unbearable I’m about to lose my f*cking mind.
A rant from Virginia:
Mike and I share a townhouse with 3 other people. In the past you may have noted the 5 dogs situation including Jeremy and Alan and how horrible they are.
I dunno if I mentioned how Alan stayed past his lease and left all matters of trash for us to deal with, he didn’t even clean his bedroom, leaving the rod in the closet broken and laying on the floor as well.
But I digress from my TRUE story for today,
Anyway we had a deadbeat roommate move in. As I don’t want to get sued by a poor man with no money, I will just call him “Deadbeat” for the rest of the story.
Deadbeat is a 37 year old man with no car, no license, no life. He was subletting the room in our house that Jeremy vacated (beginning If May) when he moved out for school. Deadbeat was subletting. The lease was over June 30th and when Deadbeat talked to our landlady, it was established that Deadbeat would be staying through the end of July.
Deadbeat is a quiet man, stays to himself. He never comes out of his room except to cook, and he doesn’t know how to wash his dishes, clean off the stove (from ALL the oil and grease that he splatters everywhere) help with taking the trash out or recycling. He looks to be in his late 20’s, he dresses like Fall Out Boy.
Well Deadbeat when he moved in, had a deadbeat girlfriend, she had a car at least, but she also was doing heroin and crystal meth. Although he was told repeatedly she was clean.
Well time goes on. Soon it becomes clear that Deadbeat is behind on his rent. First one month’s rent, then two months of rent. As he is subletting, this means if he doesn’t pay Jeremy has to pay. So of course Jeremy doesn’t want to have to pay rent for some as*hole who won’t pay for his housing.
Jeremy takes it into his own hands to start ‘collecting rent’ from him. Every week he shows up at the house and asks Harv if he has any money for rent and what he’s been doing with himself the last few weeks, etc,
Deadbeat starts telling us, the other roommates, and the landlady that his job hasn’t been paying him well and he doesn’t have money right now. We are too nice and say, “Aww man, that sux well we hope your job gets better soon.”
Then one day I get home from work and there is a summons on his door. I don’t have any idea what it’s about. Finally we get the truth out of him. His GF/EX whatever the f*ck she is, was back on heroin, her parents found out and cut her off and refused to help her. Deadbeat was buying her medication instead of paying his rent.
He had been worried she was relapsing, so he’d ask her daily “you’re clean right?” and the main thing as far as these horrible drugs, is that it makes you suspicious and paranoid. So she did what she thought was best, she got a restraining order against him. He of course worried about her, broke said restraining order and went to see her, hence the summons taped to his door.
OK, now we know the true story, and our landlady decides (Once he’s caught up on the rent that would be what Jeremy owes) to ‘keep him close’ AKA after convincing us to stay by saying the rent would stay the same, only 2 people would be living with us and one was her daughter and her boyfriend in the bottom half of the house, leaving the room that Deadbeat was occupying as a guest room or storage for us.
So for almost 3 months we’ve had to endure him. All so our landlady can keep him close. So finally it was the last straw.
Mike decided that Direct TV sux, and so we decided to switch to VerizonFIOS It also has a pay per view feature, you can record stuff and watch it later, it’s got high def for those of you crazies who have one of those awesome tv’s.
Anyway this is how it went down:
Text from Mike: Yeah so someone has been racking up ppv charges
Text from Me: WTF
Text from Mike: I was charged $292 for Oct, should be 80 spent, 20 min on phone it’s ppv charges some in sept too.
Text from Me: What an ass.
Text from Mike: Indeed!
Text from Mike: Latest bill is not online but sept bill has $58 of ppv… the oct bill will have jeremys ufc pvp but that leaves 150+ in other ppv
Text from Me: Nice!
Text from Mike: Detailed showed up online today looks like ‘Deadbeat’ owes $208 for ppv - pretty much from 2 days. On both days he ordered 6 movies within 2 hours lol
Text from Me: Btw I wonder if those 2 days were when ‘Deadbeat’ had that girl over

So Mike goes to check the detailed information on his online account and prints it up. Can you guess what he was watching?

Ok wait wait WAIT… stop laughing for 1 sec. I mean if you’re going to pay over $200 on porn why not go to an adult stuff store and buy (even if they’re like $35 a piece, 208 divided by 35 = almost 6) He could BUY 6 videos and then umm be able to re-watch them, take them to his new place, own them ya know?
What normal person is OK with putting PORN on someone elses’s account? We have 4 or 5 tv’s on the account, why would you do that? Lol I mean it meant Mike had to check so he could see if he could sort out who’s PPV charges they were.
But yeah, that was more or less the last straw. Like….who DOES that?
