Since I've been shamed into updating my LJ by catlove, all complaints about the following bit of nonsense should be forwarded to her ;)

So... I haven't got a clue what to talk about, which is why I don't update this thing that often. I don't know how many other people have posts spanning two years on the same LJ page. With me, there's no need to keep ( Read more... )

I'll never be accused of being a spammer, that's for sure.

Oh you never know, really... :p

I'm watching the Australian open, too. Not all of it, but definitely the Argentinian players. Right now Chela is playing against Keifer and last night I watched Nalbandian's match. It was also quite a surprise to see Roddick go, wasn't it?

I was hoping to see Martina Hingis. I was really excited about her coming back. I might be one of the few people who actually liked her when she was number one, lol.

Not many days left til February, so it's all good :p

Chela lost :(

I really liked Hingis because she knew tactics. She wasn't terribly strong -her serves were never her best quality-. She really lacked maturity though -we're never going to forget Roland Garros and that final against Stefi Graf.-

I think it was good to see that not the usual very strong player could make it to number 1. She was soo young, too. I guess that had a lot to do with the lack of tact.

I'm sure what happened at Roland Garros haunts her to this day. She was young though, so she learnt a very good lesson ( ... )

Yep, that was the match Eurosport went straight to when they came on air, so I guess I'm not going to see Mauresmo play tonight. Still, she won easily it seems so at least that's something.

Definitely. These tournaments can throw up a few surprises, as the quick exit of Hewitt and the Williams sisters shows as well.

I loved Hingis back then, so I was thrilled to see her in the draw. I guess we probably were one of the few people who did like her, seeing as she often lacked tact and maturity. But that never really bothered me. I just loved the skill with which she played. She was actually the player who got me into tennis in the first place, and she's still one of my favourite players ever, so I make a real effort to catch her matches ( ... )
