Part 1: The Unicorn

The unicorn has already been toast for a good five minutes when Castiel shows up. Dean's already cleaned her knife and found her shotgun where it was tossed across the clearing. The moon is bright, glinting off the silver blood that stains the grass. She really wished there had been another way -- but it was sick, corrupted by both a demon and humanity in general.

Killing it had been almost mercy, and she's pretty sure she wouldn't have found the damn thing if it hadn't wanted to die.

"A little late," Dean tells Cas. She's grinning and pleased with herself; even the bit of guilt she feels over the unicorn isn't enough to diminish her good mood. Being covered in slippery, tingling, silver blood isn't enough to ruin her good mood either-- though she's sure her clothes are pretty much a loss.

Hey, she just took down a seven foot tall beast with unbreakable skin, and a horn that cut flesh and bone like butter.

"I was detained," Cas explains, apology written on his face. He looks her over, but Dean's sort of used to that by now. It's not sexual, though she wishes it was sometimes.

She shrugs, and winces slightly; the horn got her side pretty good there at the end. "Doesn't matter. I took care of it," she says, pressing her hand to her side.

There's blood, but it doesn't seem to be bleeding at the moment, maybe a side effect of getting unicorn blood all over her. She'd ask Sam about it later.

And she's going to think of some way to get even with Gabriel for that smirk he wore when he made it clear why Sammy got to fight the dragon and Dean the unicorn. It's not like Dean's been avoiding guys on purpose (and it's Castiel's fault, somehow). Plus girls should totally count. Even if the last one was sort of an angel.

Gabriel also needed to start keeping his hands the hell off Sam.

When she looks up, Cas is doing the whole 'personal space, what personal space' thing. "You were hurt." There's something odd in his voice that she can't place.

Dean rolls her eyes and snorts. "I get hurt a lot Cas. Weren't you the one bitchin' about me ruining all your hard work to make me all 'pristine' and 'untouched' less than a day out of my grave?"

"Unicorns, those that have been tainted especially, are nothing to be trifled with. I should have accompanied you as Gabriel did Samantha," Cas insists. He's more intent than normal. He moves into Dean's space even further, his fingers tracing the already closed wound that's slick with unicorn blood. He dislikes that he can't heal her anymore, she knows this, but she doesn't mind because she never expected him to heal her.

Dean shivers, his touch hurts gliding across the barely healed skin but it also burns with something like pleasure. She wants to move away, because this is weird, Cas is acting weird even for him, but --

"I'm not a damsel in distress, Cas," she tells him. "You know that. I'd be a piss poor potential Michael condom if I couldn't take care of myself."

Cas is still touching the wound, blue eyes dilated, and he practically snarls when she mentions Michael. "He can't have you." He brings a hand up to her jaw, smearing unicorn blood.

"Cas? Uhm, remember that talk about personal space?" The words come out slightly breathless, but she's not stepping away or pushing him away, though she should. She really, really should. Because this is an angel of the Lord, and he's acting like the unicorn blood is -- Oh. "I think the blood is --"

Dean pauses and licks her lips. Castiel's thumb follows the movement, and Dean in no way, shape, or form whimpers. Castiel closes his eyes and his hand falls away from her face, though his fingers are still on the wound. "Dean," the words are spoken slowly, measured, with great effort. "You need to tell me to stop, to leave. I can't not -- my control --"

She can feel him tremble through their skin contact. His eyes are a thin ring of blue encircling black, but at the center -- there's a small pinprick of light, and she has to look away as it starts to hurt. When she licks her lips again, he makes a small, tight, sound.

"I think," she starts, and shifts her stance so her hips brush his. And he's hard. But he's a Angel and maybe that doesn't mean anything. And because she's stubborn and a Winchester, Dean says, "I think you should make sure I don't hunt any more unicorns."

She kisses him.

Castiel keens against her lips, and devours her mouth like a starving man. In the space of a heartbeat her back is on the blood slick grass. Castiel is on all fours over her, looking wild, sharp, and everything in her screams not human.

She wonders if this is what those damsels in distress feel before the monster eats them, and if they wanted it.
