Life of the Lion update: Health issues & moar

If there's one thing that I have taken away from the last two months or so, it's that I can never take my health for granted. Before late February I had gone over 3 years without so much as a cold or flu while everyone around me seemed to be hacking up a storm... well that all changed right around my 25th birthday as I was bedridden with a nasty flu, and right when I got over that I came down with a severe bronchitis infection that lasted nearly two weeks... that also marked the first time I had ever gone to the doctor for any health-related issue.

That ran it's course very slowly and I finally got that out of my system, and about a week ago my sinuses started acting up and I started losing my hearing in my left ear due to a blocked eustachian tube. I have had this before and it usually drains/goes away in a couple days, but this time it didn't... and it's progressively gotten worse and I have pretty much lost all of the hearing in my left ear.

I've tried everything in the book, nasal decongestants, flushes, herbal remedies, and I just can't get this problem to clear. The funny thing is that there is absolutely no pain, there's a little pressure of course but it's not bothersome, it's just that I can't hear squat and it sucks. I can't enjoy music, movies or TV or anything with sound because it sounds like it's on monoaural, or with the left speaker on mute.

I went in for an acupuncture treatment that didn't really help much (though I probably need to do at least 3 of them to have any effect) and I scheduled an ENT (ear/nose/throat) doctor's appointment tomorrow morning to find out what's really going on :/

In other more happy news, I'm finally getting to dive in on my work on staff for AnthroCon this year, I went through stacks and stacks of con book submissions - art and stories - and am really excited about all the awesome stuff the Publications Staff has to work with this year. The creativity and talent in this fandom never ceases to amaze me! Now for the more laborious part of my job... the proofreading and copy editing! So if you will be attending AnthroCon this year and you see a typo or misspelling in any printed con material it's MY bad... but ya won't ;)

I'm also working on my second story for the Furry News Network www.furrynewsnetwork.com for which I am also on staff as a writer - I don't want to give anything away, but the story should be up early next week.

EDIT: The story's up! Read it here: Saint Le Fur story on FNN

My hand thankfully is pretty much back to 100%. I've been bowling fairly well since my return, much better than before I got injured actually. I've had to change my game a little bit but I've adjusted well... I'll probably take the summer off any bowling leagues and just practice now and then to keep my game sharp, rest my hand, and save some money.

Hope everyone out there is well and thanks for reading/leaving your comments! *hugs*
