Sunday's big fursuit outing at the city of Bothell, Washington's annual festival, RiverFest, went better than I could have ever imagined.
Redclaw and I went last year and were very well-received at this family-friendly venue, so I took it upon myself to organize this year's outing and get a good-sized crew together... and did we ever have one!
We had seven total suiters out this time:
Silver Wuffamute
Ithabise (as Dyno)
Odakota
Kijani
Frostbite (as a currently unnamed Akita)
Joey Sparkz (as Frostbite, how confusing is that)
and Redclaw

From the moment we parked at Safeway we were a furry tsunami that simply took over downtown Bothell, leaving nothing in its wake. Right as got out of the car there was this girl in a red shirt that profoundly exclaimed,
"Is there some sort of furries convention going on that nobody knows about or what?" :D
And we heard a number of people say things like "OMG the furries are here!" and some that remembered us from last year's festival, even. A big part of Riverfest is the antique car show and we had a lot of fun with that, and a lot of the car owners asked us to pose with their vintage vehicles.
Just like last year everyone absolutely loved the suits and it was pretty much a nonstop photo op the whole time, and lots of fives and hugs for the kids and smiles for teh grownups. We didn't ask for any sort of security clearance, like last year, and not once did anybody question why we were there or our intentions as a group. This is the way it should be!
And apparently word got out about this outing as something like 7 additional people that I didn't know were coming ended up showing up, including
bogglerat from Canada who was in town for the Bellfurs meet.
One of the highlights was Silver and Ithabise going down a HUGE inflatable slide, much to the delight of the families waiting their turn.
"Look Mommy, a big dog is gonna slide down!"
"Oh c'mon Mikey you're kidding" (turns to look)
"Oh my GAWD!"
Afterwards we had a nice lunch at a local Mexican joint to unwind from the long day. In all we were out there for well over an hour in suit but it was so worth it, and the weather was great too with a nice breeze that felt like AC blowing through your fur :)
The only bad part is that I now have over 70 minutes of video to edit and condense to no more than 30... wish me luck! My goal is to get it done by Wednesday.
