A cool breeze blew in from the opened window, and Alec visibly shivered in his sleep, gripping the blanket in his hands and pulling it protectively over himself. Magnus was the first to wake, his arm draped lazily over Alec's sleeping form. Chairman Meow had stolen his pillow in the night, and despite being sandwiched between himself and the wall, Alec had managed to hog most of the blanket. Magnus hugged himself, his fingertips brushing over his bare arms as he regarded his slumbering lover. Alec wouldn't be sleeping for long...

Magnus pressed his index finger to his lips as Chairman Meow stretched across the pillow and sauntered towards him. He pointed to Alec and nodded to the cat before shifting his weight and rising to his knees, a playful smirk dancing on his thin lips. Not a moment later, he pounced, landing on top of Alec and effectively straddling his hips in the process.

Alec's eyes flew open, and the pillow that had only moments ago been cradling his head flew across the room and hit the wall before falling unceremoniously to the ground. He blinked, confusion and sleepiness clouding his vision as he met Magnus' gaze. “What's... What happened?” he stammered, his eyes only half open as he flopped back down onto the mattress.

“Good morning...” Magnus smiled, his eyes bright, that same mischievous smile on his face.

“I'm going to kill you.” Alec decided with a nod as he tried to rub the sleep from his eyes.

Magnus couldn't help but chuckle. “You are not. What fun would that be?”

“You woke me up.”

“And?”

“And I was having a good dream! And I was warm...” As if to illustrate his point, Alec shivered, goosebumps racing across his exposed skin. He groaned as he tried to sit up, propping himself up against the headboard behind him for leverage. “I can't believe you left the window open, Magnus.”

“It's only October.”

Magnus always had a quick retort ready, but Alec had long since grown used to that. He fired back just as quickly, rolling his eyes at his boyfriend. “It's still cold outside. I feel like I've been sleeping inside a refrigerator.” The weather was deceptive this time of year. A few stray rays of sunlight peeked in through the open window, but despite the brightness outside, the mid-October air had a noticeable chill to it. Alec could hear the wind whistling through the trees, and he didn't even really have to concentrate to hear it.

“You're being unreasonable. It's not that cold.” Magnus quipped, and his fingertips danced lazily over Alec's exposed right arm.

Alec huffed and crossed his arms over his chest, his gaze flickering from the opened window to Magnus, and then back again. He'd never really had a boyfriend before, and Magnus certainly kept him on his toes, but Alec had been working on something... A secret weapon of sorts. He pushed his bottom lip out and looked up at Magnus with wide eyes. “If you insist on keeping the window open, can you at least help me warm up a little bit?” he pouted, his voice soft.

Magnus' eyebrow rose as he regarded one of the classics: the puppy dog eyes. He chuckled, leaning forward, pressing himself tightly against his lover. Beneath him, Alec froze, his heart pounding in his chest, the cool autumn breeze fading into the background of his mind. Magnus' eyes twinkled as he leaned in to steal a soft kiss. “I think I have a few ideas on how I might be able to warm you up...” he smirked.

Alec's breath hitched in his throat, and he pressed the palm of his hand to Magnus' bare chest, unable to tear his gaze away. “You do?”

“Of course,” Magnus whispered, his voice as sweet as honey. He leaned forward again, this time just long enough to run the tip of his tongue along the shell of Alec's ear. A thick silence hung between them for a moment. Alec held his breath, and Magnus braced one hand against the headboard and pushed himself up and out of bed. “I'll make you a nice hot cup of tea!” he announced as he leaped up from the mattress, laughter in his voice. “Best remedy on a cold day like this one!”

Magnus snatched the pillow from the floor on his way into the kitchen and tossed it back in Alec's direction. Alec caught it and pressed it to his face, using it as a sound barrier as he groaned in frustration. “Good morning to you, too...” he grumbled.
