What's been happening you say? A lot...

Busy times again! Sunday night I found out that I was supposed to take my CLEP exam on the US government 10am Monday morning at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, so I frantically studied for all of 15 minutes (maybe a little bit more?) until I realized that the practice test I had was ridiculously easy. I then proceeded to hang out with friends in the Library's computer lab before going off to bed.

I spent the whole morning in Battle Creek, first taking the CLEP (which I got a 73% on - I only needed 62% to pass) and then walking around downtown Battle Creek hoping that one of my friends in the area would get my messages and call back. No one called, but I did get to see the old Roman Catholic and Episcopalian churches in the downtown, which was nice. (St. Philip's, the Roman Catholic church, was especially lovely. St. Thomas', the Episcopalian church, had a nice exterior, but they'd rather significantly renovated their sanctuary and it wasn't as beautiful as it could have been.)

Once I realized no one would get my messages before the end of the work day (in all likelihood) I left for Spring Arbor, stopping in Albion along the way for lunch. I spent the rest of the day working on my cover letter for the job I'm hopeful on. (I didn't get the application in when I'd hoped to 'cause the cover letter didn't get done.) I finally got it done with Shar and Gio's help, but it was a minute before 5pm and Human Resources was closed. (I walked by just in case someone was still there, but they must have all left right when it turned 5pm 'cause it was dead.)

Yesterday was Thanksgiving in the God-protected Dominion of Canada, so Bekah and I did dinner at Cracker Barrel. We'd hoped they would have turkey, but as they didn't we had other greasy foods instead :-/. It was a good time - it's nice to have just sit down with her periodically. Afterwards we checked on my glasses at Sam's Club (not there yet :-(!) and then I went back to the Commune for the last half of our weekly community dinner, which was fun (though I fell asleep at one point :-/ ). It was a truly lovely evening, getting to talk with Bekah and Ben and Marie and everyone else. I really will miss times like these. If I stay with Meijer it'll hardly happen after I'm out 'cause of the weirdness of my hours...

The rest of the evening (till 1:30 or 2am?) was spent taking down my wire rack shelves/room divider, packing it up, and then reassembling most of it in my old/new room over at the Southside Duplex. Which, BTW, needs a better name than that - the Bachelors' Pad perhaps :-)? Doesn't really work since Ryan's engaged and Stephanie's over all the time...Well, anyway, it'll come if it's meant to.

Any minute now Xenia will come in wondering why I'm not ready to go into town, so I'd better get cleaned up. (She has an application to drop off and I want coffee, so our interests have converged on this day of days :-).) Toodles...
