Glory to Jesus Christ!
"You ascended in glory, O Christ God, granting joy to Your disciples by the promise of the Holy Spirit. Through the blessing they were assured that You are the Son of God, the Redeemer of the world!" (Troparion of the Lord's Ascension)
It was a glorious Ascension full of the imminent return of our Lord in His glorious Second Coming. Archbishop Job concelebrated the Divine Liturgy with Frs. Joshua, Dusan (from St. Demetrius'), Michael (from St. Herman's, the Synodal Russian Orthodox church south of GR), Lawrence (from St. Elias', the patriarch Russian Orthodox church in Battle Creek), and Christopher (from St. Andrew's, the patriarchal Russian Orthodox church in East Lansing). It was a beautiful day - lots of visitors, worshiping together on our Lord's Ascension and celebrating both His coming return and our longed for reunion with the Synod Abroad. Lydia and Natasha went to St. Vladimir's to celebrate the reunion, and though I wanted to join them I couldn't leave when Vladyko was here.
This evening I had a lovely pre-birthday birthday dinner with my sister, and then came back to the house for The Office season finale party. Good people, good times. My mum's still in South Carolina, but leaves early in the morning for Addis Abeba. My dad has class in Chicago till noon tomorrow and should be back by tomorrow night. Oh, I got fitted for my kilt earlier today, so it should be here by the 30th - fun times :-).
Anyway, I'd better get going. Gas prices are sliding a bit ($3.42 when last I passed the inner gas station on the way to Hutch's), so I may partially fill up tomorrow in case they don't keep sliding. I'll be needing to turn in applications this weekend or early next week, so even if prices do continue to drop I'll need to refill anyway.
I needs be off. My love to you all! I'm in one place, but I wish I could be with all of you. If only you all enjoyed each other as much as I enjoy you :-) - then we could all pick a place and go live there together. Alas, I fear that's not a 'this world' thing...
