Today was a long day. I don't know why, but I woke up absolutely exhausted even though I got more sleep than I had the night before :-/. We ended up being late getting out of the apartment, but we managed to find Sts. Martha and Mary's Monastery all right. Their main church is still under ремонт/repair (конечно), so Shannon and I ended up at the back of a two-room house church that was crammed full of people there for Sunday Liturgy. I was so out of it and warm from all the people and wearing my jacket that I had to leave after a little while, but after some fresh air I was able to go back up to the second storey (where the church was) and had enough presence of mind to take my coat off so that I could make it through the rest of the service without falling asleep on my feet and looking like a demoniac getting exorcised.
The afternoon with Logan at Izmailovo Bazaar went really well, and I was sad when we parted in the metro. He leaves tonight (or already left?) for Norway to visit his extended family there before his term in Athens starts at the end of January (sooo lucky).
After we sad goodbye to Logan we went down to Tsaritsyno to have dinner with Igor and Sarah and their friends Vadim and Natalia (and Andrey their 6-month old bambino :-) ). It was a lot of fun and I'm glad that it worked out for us to spend the time with all of them. Little Andrey was especially sweet, and getting to know Vadim (who I met at the Russia-Sweden hockey game Saturday night) and Natalia a little better was good.
Anyways, I need to copy down the info I need to get to Sergiyev Posad tomorrow, so this is it for now. I hope you're all well! Your prayers (as always), and for Logan also as he looks for a place to stay during part of his time in Norway.
