Eve of St. John of Chicago

Glory to God for all things! The Holy Synod together with the All-Americas Council has elected Corbishop Jonah of Fort Worth as Metropolitan of All America and Canada! Axios! Truly he is worthy!

Metropolitan Jonah was a monk for a time at the Valaam Monastery before coming back to the USA and founding St. John of San Francisco's Monastery (which is now in Manton, California). In September he was elected auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of the South, and his articles on monastic and Christian life are all really excellent.

I think Vladyka Jonah will be a breath of fresh air in our Metropolitanate. May God grant it to be so! And, thank God, our Archbishop Job will remain in the Midwest with us :-). Please remember Metropolitan Jonah and the whole of our American Orthodox Church in your prayers!
