Acen anarchy or 'kiirobon gets lost a lot'.

I've never had to write a report like this since I seldom leave my room, much less my state, so it may be a bit wordy. :-P Hope that's okay ya'll.

Report from aCEN! I'm still quite alive. (So boo to you, my nonexistent enemies!)

I'll cover the first two days here. I have a paper to do, and I want to hang with cinnamonical for a good portion of the week, so Sunday will probably come tomorrow.

Friday or 'How I learned to stop worrying and instead slip into a slow panic.'

I haven't been on a plane in like 17 years, so the experience was interesting to say the least. The people I ended up sitting beside were both Chicago natives, so they pointed out places I should go to once I landed. Nothing too incredible here, although seeing stuff overhead really allows me to realize just how insignificant I truly am.

After landing in at O'hare, I called cinnamonical. She had just got on the train to meet me, so I had a few minutes to wander. Turns out that all the down escalators were busted that day except one, so when I tried to go upstairs to look for sustenance, I had to go all the way back. (after not finding anything I should add.)Apparently she (Sora/cinnamonical) had called me a few times, but since I have my phone on vibrate I didn't notice. We sort of ran into each other. (She was hard to miss-a small asian girl dressed in gothic lolita.) And after a stop at my hotel, we were off to the con!

The first day was interesting. I got treated to 'who's line was it anime' which was hilarious. I did some exploring of the floor, staked out what to buy, and took in some of the events. Eventually I joined Sora with her friends at their hotel, (which is exactly forty-five times better than mine.), and after hanging out there I headed back to my place....and got lost. :-P Luckily people in Chicago are nicer than what I was told, and a nice guy dropped me at my hotel. (He wasn't nice enough to do it for free though.)

Saturday or 'Gintama cosplayers make up for lack of social skills by going all out at cons.'

So after last night's inspiring experience, I decided to ask for a shuttle to the con, and surprisingly my not to great hotel had one. So I arrived at the con at about 9:45 or so, and after it opened at ten I said 'Hi' to Sora and her buddies, and then began buying. I'm fairly sure I bought enough to support a few small villages, and that eventually I'm going to look at my bank account and realize what a fool I've been, but for now let me revel in the moment. I picked up a 'One Piece' art book. (Lion) Gintama 18 (Viz) Gintama 34 (Shuiesha) and a few t-shirts. I'm kind of down that I didn't bring my Pokewalker since they were like EVERYWHERE. *Sighs* Next year will be something else I'm sure, so I won't even be able to try again...

Anyway, the time came for the Gintama shoot, and boy was it awesome. It was also around this time that I learned that my mom's digital camera doesn't work. I did bring disposables, but it makes me wonder what happened to the pics I took beforehand...

The panel was soon after that, and it was a lot of fun. I got some applause for being the guy who put up with Sorachi for the last two years, and for the most part, the players were in character. (But for Gintama, what does it mean exactly to be in character?) After that, it was more wandering, (and taking pictures of some awesome cosplays....I'm going to have to consider my stance on that for next year...)

The con ended for the day, and once more I joined Sora and co at their hotel room. Be forwarned, we came up with an awesome new manga/comic idea. What do you think of when you hear the title 'Adventures of hobo-robo'? Epic right? Epic!! He'd be like, the homless drunk guy of the mecha universe!! I'm so down for this that it's painful. If you guys see a Hobo Robo comic in your stores, be sure to pick it up! lulz.

Anyway, that's the first two days. I'm going to upload pics when I get back to my country (East coast US.) Currently, I'm still here in Chicago, and hopefully Sora-chwan will give me an idea of her schedule so we can take this state by storm. I'll take pictures as we cause mayhem and tragedy, and maybe someone will get a laugh or two.

Till then- Ja ne.
