I just got back from the premiere of The Bill Collector, a local no-budget film that I helped with as a production assistant for one day back in 2008. According to the credits, I was also an extra during the bar scene, but I don't remember it at all. I think I would have remembered a half naked girl dancing around too, but it was two years ago.
Anyway, I think the movie turned out pretty well, considering what they had to work with. A lot of the acting was pretty mediocre, but the lead (Jason Bortz) was fantastic. He totally made me believe he was an irredeemable scumbag, even though the actor himself seems like a pretty cool guy. During the Q&A session after the film, the director mentioned that The Bill Collector is supposed to be one of the first movies to be offered by Google/Youtube's upcoming video on demand service, which is pretty cool. Depending on how much it costs, I might rent it just to see if I can spot myself in the bar.
