Today was way busier than I was expecting it to be. First I had a dental appointment to fill one of my cavities (I actually didn't need a root canal for once!), and immediately afterward, I drove off to Sierra for a resume building workshop. Hopefully what I learned should make it easier to finish last semester's assignments now, because I hardly accomplished anything this week. I have a feeling I'll be giving away a lot of my hours again next week. I'll be glad when they can finally reduce my given hours like I asked them to almost a month ago.

After the workshop (which was really more of a lecture, as we didn't work on them there), I wandered over to the area around the Galleria mall to see if there were any discount clothing stores that might have a cheap suit jacket I could use for the presentation we're doing in my small group communication class. The cheapest I found there was about $90, so I decided to take a look at the Goodwill near the Sunrise mall. At least, I thought it was on Sunrise. I drove clear down to Sunset and didn't see it. Thought I might have confused Sunrise with Madison, so I drove down Madison clear past 80. I drove all around town for somewhere near two hours before I gave up and just drove back to Roseville to get that $90 jacket that looked so damn fine. Naturally they didn't have a size small enough for me, so I'm paying extra for them to alter the sleeves. Ended up paying more than double what I was hoping to when I started the search. Probably should have waited til I checked at Kohl's, but that coat just looked so great.

Jeez, I just keep on spending money like it's nothing. I already posted about the mass of CDs I bought on impulse. All that driving today ate up about three quarters of my second tank, so that sped up the money I had to pour into my truck again. I almost actually bought Ticket To Ride today when I saw it at HobbyTown. I really need to open a savings account soon to hide this money from myself.

Earlier tonight I went downtown to see Daniel Handler (a.k.a. Lemony Snicket) talk at the Crest Theater. That guy is absolutely hilarious. Honestly, I'd never read any of his work until tonight when I bought The Basic Eight, and so far it's a pretty fun read. Handler's such a funny guy, though; if you get a chance to hear one of his lectures, you totally should.

I was going to do that 25 facts meme tonight too, but I actually have to show up at work again tomorrow! I know, right? It's crazy, since when do I go to work?

...I wonder if I could get away with eliminating Tuesdays and Thursdays from my work schedule.

and i still don't know where that god damn Goodwill is.

books, money, clothes, health, school, truck, work
