Three awesome movies in one night?

I guess so! My dad and I spent pretty much the entire day together having a pretty awesome time. After running some errands first, we had lunch at Ruby Tuesday. I'd never been there before, so I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but that bison burger was pretty tasty. Woulda been tastier if they'd put the produce on TOP of the meat and cheese, but y'know, whatever. It isn't that hard to turn a burger upside down. That place needs more light in there too. Anyway, after lunch we went to this virtual racecourse place. That was kinda cool. The cars were hard to drive though. Driving away was hard too, because I kept wanting to floor it.

Right after that we went to the United Artists theater in Roseville to use my gift card. We saw Madagascar 2, which was a LOT of fun. The army of Chris Rocks was a little freaky, but in a good way. The credits had this really cool remix or cover or something of "I Like To Move It", but I didn't get to see the end of the credits on account of we had to get across the street to the Century theater to see Bolt. I'll probably go see Madagascar 2 again at like the Sunrise Mall or something. I still have fifty cents on my gift card.

Bolt was incredible. I really enjoyed it; it was the best movie I saw tonight. Rhino the hamster completely stole the show. I just kept busting up laughing every five or ten minutes. I know I've said this before, but I really like Miley Cyrus's voice. I actually like it better when she's talking than when she sings. Don't get me wrong now, I do like her singing. I just really like her talking too. Anyway, it was a really cute and sweet movie. I definitely want to watch it again sometime.

On the way home, we stopped at Fry's to look around, but apparently they close at 9:15. I know, weird, right? So we buy a few things we'd found already (including two volumes of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga for a buck fifty each!) and head home. Dad asks if I want to rent a movie, and I remind him that we still have Meet The Robinsons from Netflix. That reminds him that the PS2 didn't read it last time, so he spends twenty minutes or so working on cleaning the PS2 and one of our other DVD players, trying to get one of them to read the disc. After a while the PS2 finally gives in and lets us watch it, and like the two movies before it, Robinsons was cute and fun. I was disappointed that the T-Rex didn't play a bigger role, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I was even pleasantly surprised with a Rob Thomas song at the end of the movie. The way the DVD was set up was pretty neat, because as soon as the movie was over, it started right into the special features, namely a couple deleted scenes and the official music video for "These Small Hours". I think there may have been more extras, but I stopped watching after the music video. Of the three videos I've seen edited to that song, I gotta say my favorite was the sequence that was in the actual movie. The official video kept tossing in clips of Rob Thomas right when the music was getting really intense. Fortunately, at the biggest part of the song the editor added the scene where all the little CARLs are running out of CARL's chest, which looked really cool. There were some other neat scenes in the video too, but that's the one I remember best.

Tomorrow, we go to Fry's BEFORE they close at a strange time! Browsing party WOOOOOOOO!

movie, family
