Summary: Find a stranger with a masked face, a person who whispers softly to you, and kill him.
She twists the knife, hard, deep, dripping scarlet that stains the pretty, pretty dress fairy godmother had leant her. Her mind is in ruins, turmoil, the gears turning, frantic, and she wants to scream, but they would hear her. Hear her and see the deed she has done.
“I love you,” he whispers, fingers trembling as they brush against her forehead. Smiling, he’s smiling of all things and she shoves the blade deeper, watching him gasp, perfect angel face contorting with pain and hurt and betrayal. But that smile’s still there and she wants to rip it away.
“No you don’t,” she replies, arms drawing him close as she presses against him. Cold, she feels so cold, and curls closer to him. He drapes his arms around her, breathing labored, perfect angel face draining of color and he’s dying, she just knows it.
His eyes flutter shut, fingers blindly searching for hers, his breath quivers against her heartbeat. “I love you.”
“You can’t,” her voice is softer than it has ever been, and she kisses his lips.
They’ve gone cold as well.
