Tattered robes and broken dreams, he looks afraid and broken and so very young. Younger than he ever was. There’s a snake and skull upon his arm and you listen as he clutches you, falling to his knees, crumbling like the end of an age.
“Help me,” he pleads. “I didn’t know.”
You back away and turn your back. You won’t believe him. You won’t listen this time. You won’t be fooled again.
“I thought it was right!”
You know it’s wrong. You don’t turn around.
He leaves and disappears forever, and you wonder if it’s so black and white.
