The Batman (2022)
I love it!!
It's good, very human. It feel like game too for some reason.
I've haven't been paying attention to movie news (of all kind and origin) for quite sometimes and I feel like it's for the better. Back then for movie that I anticipated I kinda follow any news/annoucement/rumours pretty closely but now absolutely none.
For The Batman, the latest news about it was the annoucement of Robert Pattison as Batman. I didn't even know when the release date. I was browsing cinema FB and found out it'll be release in March. I feel like I have better experience like this. I was surprised to belatedly found out that Collin Farrell played the Penguin. I didn't recognized him at all under all those prosthetic
The thing that surprised me the most of this movie was the run time. Yup, Paid for the ticket without checking the runtime. We already in our seat when we found out that it almost 3hours long (we went in early and was planning for lunch).
About the movie, It almost about 95% from batman perspective (not Bruce Wayne just Batman), a pure dectective movie I must say. All the clue we have totally from his perspective. I would say it kinda refreshing, haven't watched many movies like this, the last I watch like this was Seven (I watched Seven maybe 5 years ago). The quips were minimal, thanks god. I hate quip, Marvel made me hate them because of their excessive use. I like that Penguin walked like a penguin when he was captured and bound, that cracked me up, that scene was payed seriously though.
Batman and Catwoman this time has more chemistry, I like Nolan Batman too but I find that Batman and Catwoman there (even with Thalia) had zero chemistry. It still kinda awkward sudden romance but still more chemistry. Robert Pattison in this movie is very pale (not sparkling though), I didn't watch many of his movie and most that I watch apart from Twlight took place at night or mainly night time. Is he always very pale?
In this movie batman was still a flegding, it only been 2 years he was doing it. His gadgets and gears were less polished and pretty crude still. The batcar still very nice though. The ending was hopeful, I was afroid that they gonna pull some miracle but the story sayed human till the end. It also had no cliffhanger sequel bait, we it has but not about Batman, which is nice. I guess they learned now that nobody like that type of ending.
My cenima had no post credit scene, we waited untill the staff came to sanitise the hall and the saff said we don't have the post credit scene. I didn't know what postcredit was optional for cenima, I learned something that day.
