I saw the movie Grindhouse on Saturday, and my god is it great. It's essentially 2 movies in one, Planet Terror from Robert Rodriguez which is a zombie movie, and then Death Proof, from Quentin Tarantino, which is a suspense movie involving cars. And between the two of them there are a bunch of "coming attractions" done by other directors, which are hilarious.
But generally both movies have great humor, along with just great storytelling. Both movies try, and succeed, at spoofing classic campy horror movies. Planet Terror much more then Death Proof since Planet Terror has the old film grain look to it. But generally I feel like I would have been satisfied paying $8 to see either of the movies on their own, together it makes the whole thing amazingly satisfying, especially how Death Proof ends. But its definitely the most satisfying movie experience I've had in a long while. So if you have a free 3 and a half hours, go see it. Especially if you like campy horror, or Tarantino.
In other news I picked up Virtua Tennis 3 from EB after the movie. I traded in Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2, and Marvel vs Capcom 2 since I sold my PS2 to my friend, and I already got GH2 for 360. But MvC2 got me $27 on trade in, and then the EB guys were telling me it sells for $40 pre-owned since they didn't print many copies of it. Then as the used tag printed out it actually read $70. Which I find really funny that they sell it for that much. I probably should have just sold it on eBay or something, but oh well.
Yeah so VT3 is really cool. I picked it up simply because I've been playing the demo way too much so I figured, why not just buy the damn thing? It's definitely eating up a lot of my time... well between that and GH2. GH2 for 360 is purely awesome simply because of the online leaderboards. I'm in the lower 9k on Free Bird, and thats just on medium.
Well thats it for now I guess... I should go do some writing or something.
