Today went much much MUCH much better. Thank the gods, i didn't have to go anywhere near that chocolate icing from hell.
I made about 6 cakes today, and not a SINGLE mishap!
Well, okay, not COMPLETELY accident free...I only smudged a shell border once, but very easily fixed, and the plastic cake comb snapped exactly in half (its 12" long, so it snapped on the 6" mark), but thats IT. The cake comb can still be used, actually, so thats ok also.
The freezer is starting to look thinner....except Larry has a few more cakes he was going to pan tonight so I'll have a another handful to decorate tomorrow.
But all in all, today was very successful, I even did remarkably well decorating. Not up to my standards *yet*, but getting there. That buttercream frosting they have is VERY whipped, so its not good for detail work at ALL. Its like using a magic marker when you need a ballpoint pen. The consistancy is almost exactly like cool whip.
I've talked to Larry about getting some thicker buttercream frosting, and some royal icing for my detail pieces later on, and he's open to the idea. I doubt its going to happen soon, but he didn't say no, so I think it'll happen in the future.
I left today happy...tired, but happy with my job, as opposed to Tuesday's frustration.
I go back in tomorrow to do more cakes at 4pm
