a friend just forwarded me a note that I sent to them 5 years ago today:
Hey,
Since I got blitzed with email/phone/IM's I thought I would let everybody know I'm okay. Things in WDC are pretty hectic. Right now we can see two plumes of smoke from the city and aren't sure what they are all from. Somebody said that there were explosions on Capital Hill and the Mall is on Fire. A helicopter crashed into the Pentagon earlier.
All area schools are closed and parts of DC are being evacuated. Many of the people I'm working with are wondering if they can go home.
