And now for something different

Yay! I did something really fun, and new to me, and has been on my DC "to do" list for some time.

Over the weekend I got up the courage to sing, sing, sing at Freddies' Karaoke. Its been a long time since I sang to a non-sca crowd. In fact I think you have to go back to my days in the boy scouts. Thanks

technomage for giving me the courage to get on stage. In truth I've been planning this for a while as my Ipod has a few song selections on a special Karaoke playlist. On it is the one I sang, along with Brown Eyed Girl, Sweet Caroline, Rhinestone Cowboy, Fax me a Beer, and As Good As I Once Was. Looking back Rhinestone Cowboy is a little too long for a good Karaoke song. And I prefer ones that the audience knows, and can sing along to. Jimmy Buffett is a good example. I was thinking of learning something from Johnny Cash. Others that I might pick up are - Just a Giggalo (but my cuz does this one), Copacabanna (but my brother in law does this) or perhaps something by Sinatra. Any suggestions from the audience? Oh and the one I sang for the Freddies crowd was "Lola". If you know anything about Freddies (http://www.freddiesbeachbar.com/) it was either the best or worst place to sing it.
