So I've started a blog, a real one, not a myspace one. It's about art so most of you won't care but I'm going to do a post about a piece I helped set-up and document in Volunteer Park. Here's the link:
Art:Note I'm also going to make a website today!!! That'll be posted later. I couldn't believe that I was the only person without one in my workshop class. Am I that 90's?
I'm seeing Harry Potter at midnight with Justin and his roommate. I'm excited for it!
Went and had my preliminary meeting for temping. Sooo much fucking paperwork and the only two things they had for me was an auditor who would fly around the country for 3 out of the 7 days of the week auditing their payroll. Excuse me? I'm not doing that. Yes it's like 30,000 a year and you get full benefits and 401K but I think you've missed something. I'm not an auditor, I had trouble remembering how to multiply 3 digit numbers on the test. The other job was soliciting money from businesses for Muscular Dystrophy Association. 1)I hate talking on the phone, let alone for 8 hours a day and 2)I don't like cripples (j/k).
Doing that application though made me realized what path I DID have to make happen though.
1. Get either temping job by project (and more specifically find temping in the creative arts rather than medical/legal/accounting), or another food service job that can pay up to 900 a month.
2. MAKE WORK. Make new work every month. Buy the supplies needed to finish putting my 4x5 together and start shooting. This is the most important part of my plan as the goal is to get to grad school and this can only be accomplished through art-making (and I want to make new work) and a strong portfolio.
3. Grad school & Start teaching for PAY!
This is how I see the next 2-3 years.
