I don't know if you've seen or heard about this mess, but I think most of you will agree with me that it's all pretty ridiculous. If you want to pitch in with some of the efforts to fight against it, you can join

A lot of us, however, are incredibly busy these days. So all I really ask is that you do this:
Go to
fandom_counts and join (almost 20,000 people have joined in the last twelve hours). That's it. No obligation, no need to do anything else (though please do if you like), nothing. Just a statement that, "Yes, I'm here, and I'm a member of fandom." Any fandom. We can at least give them an idea of what they're up against.
The story's already been Dugg, Farked, and posted on BoingBoing. This is going to be huge, folks, and it's all completely uncalled for.
