In lowercase, my name reads the same.

Putting all the letters in all capitals as "AIGIS," however, produces "BALLS."

Ah. It's not a correlation between your name and the actual objects. The correlation is between the visual structure of the letters that represent your name and the visual structure of the letters that represent the word for those objects.

Does that make more sense?

I thought that was it but I was not positive in my calculations. I thank you for clarifying. However, the visual correlation between the two is not very clear to me either. I am not sure "AIGIS" would be viewed as "BALLS" from the side.

I'm not sure it would be either. The math involved is far too complex for my capabilities, or I would attempt to verify it.
