1. Tsukigumi - It all started on a fateful day in August 2007 in Fukuoka, Japan. :) Mizuki snapped
this pic, and posted it in
his blog, and he coined the term 「月組」. And the rest is history. I was in Fukuoka that day too. My friends and I irimachi'd for Sadie, and then went to go see lynch. at another venue. ^^; We saw Sadie the day before in Hiroshima, so we needed some variety for our trip (one friend stayed for Sadie though). That raunchy broadcast on Radio STARZ last summer really created a buzz, and I really hope 「ときめきムーンライト」 becomes an actual single. I also have a 月組ペットボトル: it's Hazuki's water bottle with Mizuki's pick, both of which I caught at a show in February 2008.
2. Osaka - The hiring office in SF placed me in Osaka. I think it's because my interviewer recommended that I go there. When she taught for NOVA, she was placed in Osaka as well. I think it's just the right amount of hustle-and-bustle, as well as a hometown feel...if you're in the right suburb. It's in between Kyoto & Kobe, and the transportation system is incredibly easy to navigate. Since everything is so close together, you don't have to go too far to find some fun. The ease you feel here compared to Tokyo is immense. The hair you see here is very big. And things that would be surprising elsewhere are just normal happenstance here.
3. lives - I went to too many! But there aren't many that I regret going to... I kept all of my stubs, and filed them away. I prefer the livehouse tickets as opposed to Lawson or PIA tickets. I didn't start traveling for bands until March 2007. And I started traveling more after I discovered the night bus system in May 2007. I suppose I could have spent the money doing other things, but I really enjoyed my experiences traveling across Japan with my friends (and by friends, I mean actual friends...not the bands, I'm not that sad -_-). I've been to 15 prefectures, and passed through even more. The farthest I ever went was to Hokkaido (an incredible place). Lives were a way for me to de-stress, and instead of going out for drinks...I went to a show. Plus, they were a good workout. I can't wait for spring break!! There are tons of shows I wanna see here, but they always conflict with my schedule. I missed Weezer, Rise Against, Skindred, plus many more...even though they played on my school campus! D:
4. Baby retards - I'd say they seem the most genuine, and therefore very lovable. I'm the kind of person who can like another for what seems like their faults. Sometimes, these are just a part of their charm. There's just something in the imperfection that we cling to and depend on. In the next DVD extra Girugamesh puts out...there needs to be a "Satoshi's Karaoke Korner" section. XD A sing-off with Hazuki or Yoshihiko would be awesome, since they bashed him on Radio STARZ.
5. Yuuki :B - I first saw UnsraW in November 2006 with a Finnish fan (I wish I still had her contact info, her name was Yenna), and I was hooked. I went to my first instore in March 2007 to take pictures (
1 &
2) with him. Pretty much every UnsraW fan I've met is a Yuuki fan (many are on my f-list), but no one was ever like "NO! Only I can be Yuuki's fan! D:" That kinda BS irritates me. It was nice to have that camaraderie sans pettiness. Let's see, his stage persona & presence were awesome, and he had a lot of fan participation built into the show...sing-a-longs, hand-grabbing, spraying water, crowd-diving, chucking water bottles, etc. Some ppl may be put off by it, but that was a part of the show. I dunno what happened towards the end...I kinda felt like he started feeling out of it in November 2007, but I didn't wanna say anything. I still hope he continues with his music after he graduates from university. Oh yea, I also wrote him and the other band members a few letters before. I was 半通 at best, but I caught stuff from the band 1/4 of the time. x_x I don't just miss him, I miss the whole UnsraW experience: the band, the staff, the fans, the anticipation, etc. I wonder if he still writes in his CURE column. Well, that was depressing.
