All right! So, another concert...and my head, neck, & back hurt like a motherfucker...nearly 24hrs after the event. ~_~ But, I suppose that's normal, right? It's because of UnsraW.
All right, so the line up:
1. 彩-イロドリ-
2. Marvelous Maiden
3. SACRED
4. PABLO HONEY
5. LA69
6. SUICIDE ALI
7. ドーリスマリィ
8. UnsraW
0. hurts
10. Pashya
Nikki had shown me the way last week, for which I'm incredibly grateful for. :D I made it all the way okay. Land bridge and all. From the station to the venue, I was getting stares. And of course, when you're being stared at...it's all right to stare right back! So, I got to look at some cute/hot hosts without any sly glances...more of "whatchu lookin' at?" look.
So, I got to Holiday Osaka and saw that maybe 30 girls were there. Errr...I'm 204, so wtf? And everyone had tiny CD Holiday tickets...and I had PiA. =O I just waited until the lady called for PiA tickets. Whatever. I still got to the front. Okay..so I know I can look Japanese, but this does not allow me to break through the Japanese girl barrier. So, I just went for the first white person, and she ended up being
suicide_gemini...the self-proclaimed Kisaki stalker. And then her friends came or something, then I went to go sit by myself. Then, I saw another white girl go into the venue. While I'm still waiting for my turn. Hurrr~
So I get in, walk down the gilded spiral staircase and walk into the venue. Super fuckin' tiny! XDDD The ticket ppl looked at my PiA ticket, and talked a bit. Is there something wrong w/ buying from PiA? Am I supposed to buy it from them??? I dunno. They asked for who I was there to see, and I said: "UnsraW"...woohoo, then drink ticket. It was elaminated. And I got the biggest stack of flyers EVER! I ended up not getting a locker, cuz I didn't realize I had walked by them already when I went into the concert. Oh well, I saved ¥300.
I hurried over the right side where there was an edge to sit on, and put my stuff on. So, that's where I chilled for a while before the concert started. The other white girl was just standing there by herself, so I felt an urge to talk to her. I debated this in my head for a good 5min, and then I just found myself talking to her. Haha. I did the standard, "Do you speak English?" Me = lame, but oh well. She's a Finnish high school exchange student. Interesting, no? Her name is Jenna. We stuck to each other for the rest of the night. It's good to have a buddy.
First up was 彩-イロドリ-...they're a neo-japanesque/oshare band? I dunno. All I know is that they wear christmas decoration in their hair. Not necessarily christmas trees & candy canes, but like the wrapping & trim. Haha. They were cute, and the didn't have any helpers...so they were the ones at their sales booth. We went to go check out their merch, mostly photosets...I didn't buy any, but Jenna bought one. They had some framed ones on the bottom that I would have liked to buy. Jenna and I both liked the ones where they were holding the parasols. So pretty. But the singer pulled that Japanese shop staff thing where he says they don't have anymore. "すみません。もないんです。" Hehe. So nice. Small bands are cute. For the most part, it was just the singer...but by the end of the night, the whole band was just chilling there talking to girls. At the end of the night, I saw this girl tug on the singer's jacket behind the bar...and then offer him candy. He looked rather hesitant, and that amused me. XDD Jenna wanted to say "thank you" to them...but ended up not doing so. Too nervous, and they were closing the venue by that time.
Next was Marvelous Maiden. There was no saizen for them, so
suicide_gemini tried to get ppl on the bar. Jenna and I were a bit whatever cuz we weren't familiar with the band. We ended up staying on the right side. Good thing, cuz at least this guitarist was cute. ^^ The other one was this otaku-looking boy who tried to pull off a blond hime-cut. Errr. No. But again, cute guitarist who smiles and does a tongue thing. Not bad. The singer was actually a bit frightening. That's all I hafta say.
Then, there was SACRED...they just dressed like hosts. o_O They're band pic is a bit more visual, so it felt a bit different. They sounded just like a regular rock/pop band. So no complaints. Again, the lead guitarist was good-looking. But tiny. Haha. I really liked their ballad; really dramatic and chilling. He even did some acapella. The band seemed to be a bit sick. The singer & guitarist both.
PABLO HONEY's outfits were so amusing~ XDD And the singer is cute! He glued a piece of black venise lace onto his face. Hehe. But then it fell off. x3 They also had quite a few fans, and interesting music. Oh, and their outfits...in tune w/ their name, they looked like dancers from the Riviera. I expected them to start doing some congo line dancing or some shit. Haha. I thought the singer would hit his head on the overhead stuff cuz he jumped on the box, and is actually rather tall.
LA69 fucking KILLS!!! XDDD Their intro had the American anthem. <3 I knew I was going to like them already. Then, they came out...and I was fucking laughing my ass OFF!! 80's style hair band. And so OLD! Late 30s at least. Hehhehehehe. They only had 2.5 fans. Two were at the bar from the beginning, and then one person came in for the last song. I didn't have the confidence, so I just sat by the side. But still, so fucking amusing. I was smiling all the way through. I didn't like the singer's vocals all that much, but they're true to rock. The music was good. I ended up buying a keitai strap of theirs. :D Hot PINK!! I liked their song "Julia"~ The band members were covered in tattoos, and the drummer had a polka dot jumpsuit!
SUICIDE ALI was good; the vocalist has an interesting stage persona. I think he might idolize Hizumi a bit. Creepy cool? He was shirtless and had all these black brush strokes on his chest and back. And all throughout, he was pulling ppl closer to the bar. He reached out his hand, and I didn't know whether to take it or not. I did, but it felt wrong at the moment. Can't explain. But they're good.
ドーリスマリィ was one of the bands I wanted to see~ Cuz I'm in love with 始めの別れ. *_* <3 I can't hold back the fact that I was disappointed in the hotness of Iori. Is that really something to be disappointed about? The pictures! They lie! Oh well, it doesn't take away from his guitar skills at all. It was interesting watching him play. Disappointed, I say, because his skin is like worse than mine, and he looks ages older than I imagined. =X I feel so shallow. x_x And I also had the expectation of something, and that always ruins everything. I would say I was 2nd row, and in Holiday...that's like right smack dab in their face. XD The last song was 始めの別れ, and that fucking made my NIGHT! <3 So beautiful. By then, the band was sweating up a storm.
OMGOMGOMG!!! UnsraW~ Freaky-ass looking band + creepy-ass masks = winner of the night. Seriously. I had so much fun, I hurt myself. And that's the best fun, right? Pretty much everyone came to see them, and it's cuz they rock so fucking hard. I couldn't help but think that the singer was a bit Tenten-ish. <333 He had a similar face structure, but nowhere near as skinny. His voice is also really strong. My fave song from them is 嗤い鬼...cuz of the evil monster laughing! >D Hehe. And that was the best song of the night...that they dragged on for like 10min. The whole song is a rush song. There's that bowing headbang where you just lunge in one at a time, and then there's the one where you gotta brace yourself otherwise your head might fall off. Basically, gotta bend your knees, otherwise you'll fall over from using too much force. And, cuz it's a Japanese live...you only have yourself to depend on when headbanging. Saizen gets the bar, you get yourself. 大変! Anyway, some serious fun was had. Jenna and I both fell more in love with UnsraW as a result. In between bands, we had gone to look at merch a few times, and the 2nd time we went...we bought UnsraW stuffs. I gotta bandana, and she gotta t-shirt...3rd time, I got the t-shirt and she got the bandana. T-shirt had limited graphics. Front has a shield w/ a banner that says "Gate of Death" and the bandana has their logo and signatures. Awesome!
Hmm, hurts. The bassist looked like he was trying to be Zero. Hehe. But I thought they were very regular. They didn't get much of a crowd. Waah! So regular, what can I say? There set was over rather quickly; that's what I noticed. I really liked the singer's outfit. Very simple gothrock w/ grommets and stuff. Always good. Watching it swing around kept me busy during their set. The singer kinda stormed off at the end, and the bassist's guitar fell after he propped it up. =/ We got our drinks after their set. Ginger ale for me; Calpis for Jenna. Laminated drink tickets: who would have thought of that? And of course, the reuse of cups...standard procedure. I wish the ice was crushed, I would have held onto it a bit longer. Oh, and at this time...彩-イロドリ-, was just chilling at their booth talking to girls through the fence-barrier thing. All the girls are so little, I can never tell how old they are. Plus, today was a holiday...so everyone didn't have school. Yay for them.
Finally, there was Pashya. Nikki said they were good, and I was waiting for them to perform. The singer is funny, and it was nice to see a happy band after hurts. For some reason, the guitarist seemed really plastic to me, and he had outrageously nice skin & teeth. *_* Are you human, sir? Anyway, the bassist was a My Type. He reminded me of Ryouki, but less good-looking. =X XDDD Still means he's quite good-looking, plus his character was funny. The guitarist & bassist had to wear the smallest shorts EVER! They were both rather tall men, so that meant lots of leg showage. At least the bassist's shorts fit rather seamlessly with the size of his thighs, but the guitarist...was too skinny. I thought something might show! x_x Aren't their outfits supposed to be tailored to them?
[update]
Okay, so the night ended...and we actually weren't shooed away from the venue. We stayed in for awhile, and then made our way out. Passed by 彩-イロドリ- band members, Jenna wanted to say "thank you for tonight" but nerves got to her. They seemed like nice enough guys. They were still talking to the little girls. We passed by CD Holiday on the way out, and I picked up a lynch. flyer. Hahaha. *sigh* CD Holiday is smaller than my room. xD
Errr...time to spiral out the top, and it was raining! u_u And girls were demachi-ing...just hovering about the land bridge and the exit. I had to go to Umeda station, while Jenna used another route. So I just left. Rain wasn't really rain, per se...just a drizzle. So, I was fine. Made my way back, and some Australian chick asked me where KFC is...I told her she probably passed it on her way here. She was already at Matsuya. So, in total...this day, I asked 3 white chicks: "Do you speak English?" XDDD!!! I dunno. This just amuses me. By the time I got back to the station, there were nearly no hosts out. That must have meant that it was late. HAha. It was nearly 23:00 (grr...military time). Ugh. Yen spent.
1. ticket = ¥3,000
2. Midosuji subway = ¥400
3. drink ticket = ¥500
4. UnsraW bandana = "¥1,000
5. UnsraW t-shirt = ¥3,000
6. LA69 strap = ¥1,000
7. bank after-hours fee = ¥105
...¥9,005 yen. ouch. I have a whole bag to sell now.
Why can I not find the time to photograph them?
Good thing I didn't get that 彩-イロドリ- photoset, huh?
All in all, it was a fun night. Not really done updating yet, but I need to hightail it to the post office that's about 20min away. =_= Gotta pick up a package. I have more regular life to talk about. Yup. Another entry, I suppose.
