documentary: The Greening of Southie. Recommended.
We saw The Greening of Southie yesterday, one of the last films of the local Earth Day film fest.
I recommend seeing this documentary. I like how there's more focus on the actual builders and the construction, not just the owners and developers. There are some disappointing things in it, but I think that only highlights the nature trying something new. The end result, in terms of policy in the city of Boston, is impressive.
I knew the building looked very familiar. After looking at Google Maps and street views, I confirmed that this and its sister building were right at the intersection where we would exit the subway before taking a bus further into Southie to pt's grandmother's apartment.
