Economics can be silly.
I'm not commenting on global economics... I don't have the knowledge. But I'm amused at a specific incident. The hubby and I have played MMORPGs for a while now. 4 or 5 years ago we got in to City of Heroes. We both own copies of the game, but after several years let our subscriptions lapse when we moved onto a new MMORPG (WoW to be specific). He recently returned to CoH, renewing his subscription, and taking a break from WoW. Today while at Best Buy, he found a copy of CoH for $10. He bought it. Not because we need another copy of the game, but because the game comes with a free month subscription.... cheaper than what it would cost to buy that month subscription directly....
It just seems silly to me.
