She died...

The kids saw their Grandma (ex-MIL) on Halloween and had a really good visit with her... on Wednesday of last week she took a turn for the worse and it was requested that the kids come see again. I refused and through talking with them they agreed that they didn't need to see her in that state and that it was better to leave them with the good visit memories of her... she passed away just after 4:30 pm on November 13... I told the kids after we had dinner... they all had a good cry and good cuddle and talked about everything... I think they are going to be ok... but now we have the funeral to contend with which is a full scale catholic affair (no offence Amy) and as one of her dying wishes she wants the kids to be part of the family walk, etc... they are not sure if they are comfortable with this... but on the good side for the kids I am allowed to attend but NOT sit with the family...like I would even want to sit with them. I emailed all the kids teachers and let them know what was going on and have the school councellors and mental health therapists on alert to watch out for any deviant behaviours. I hope this smooths out quickly so they can grieve and go on.

I know I sound callous...but this woman wrote them all off the day her son lost visitation rights... I have no sympathy for her or the rest of the family... my only sympathy is for the pain my children are feeling and my desire to mend that as quickly as I can for them.
