Star Trek: Enterprise has been cancelled. For the first time since 1987, there will be no new Star Trek next year. When this happens, there is no doubt that a part of me will die with it. This season was the best, and it's gotten better as it's gone on. And yet, an ignorant public that prefers to watch shows like "American Idol" and "Wife Swap", has decided to shun Star Trek and leave it for dead. I encourage you all to watch the remainder of the show on Fridays at 8PM on UPN. The series is to air it's last episode on May 13.
Battlestar Galactica is the spiritual successor to Star Trek. This new series is a remake of the lack-luster 1979 sci-fi series and written by former ST:TNG writer Ronald D. Moore, this show often reminds me of the good old days of TNG Seasons 5 + 6, which are arguably the best episodes of any Star Trek series. The characters are interesting, there's room for depth of story and space battles, and it is as well written as any other show I've ever seen. Battlestar Galactica appears on the Scifi Channel, Fridays at 10PM. Scifi will run a Galactica marathon featuring the first five episodes (not including the pilot miniseries) starting at 7PM on Tuesday night.
