But you don't seem to realize the destruction you've already caused. Just look at yourselves. This society as a whole is doomed and plagued. We are a cultureless bunch of twits who are just begging for whatever we can swindle away without too much effort. Kids are so preoccupied with the notion that they all have something to offer. That their story is more interesting... everyone is plagued with the ego that other people are going to remember them long after they're gone, though none of them want to develop any skills or talents. They're all just waiting for their much-deserved big break. Easy money, no problems, and flashy living are what life is all about. Wake the fuck up. You're not interesting.
Remember punk rock? Remember when those fucks would always talk about how MTV sucks and corporate rock is evil? Remember when they would bitch about anything mainstream? I would KILL to hear music on MTV now. Back when I was getting into NOFX and the Bouncing Souls, bands like Bush and Soundgarden were all over MTV. Think about how fucking far we've plunged in the last 10 years. I'm sorry, but Kurt's death may have been the end of mainstream music altogether. It's not music anymore. It's neatly manufactured garbage. And it's fucking with the heads of young people everywhere.

My point is that our society is becoming a bunch of spoiled, unappreciative little pricks. Nobody cares about hard work anymore. Real musicians are being beaten out of the industry because no-talent fucks like Panic! At the Disco and Avenged Sevenfold are leeching off the flavor-of-the-week trends that YOU are buying into without any regard for how good it actually is. It pisses me off as a musician because it just makes my spot in the whole scene that much more insignificant even though I personally know that I could do a million times better. What bands are you going to remember 20 years from now as classics? Maybe Death Cab. Maybe. When your kids take a journey through musical history, what will they find? Hopefully not Underoath. Jesus, hopefully not Blink-182.
Think society is fucked yet? What happens when you realize that nobody cares about your story? What happens when your opportunity never comes knocking? You never got off your ass to see what life you could lead. So it'll be your own damn fault when you become involved in an online blogspace completely dedicated to self-mutilation and self-loathing. Ultimately, your suicide will have literally no impact on anyone, not even your parents who by now are too jaded and out of touch with your lives to give a shit. Your death will be something that is expected. Things like, "We saw them destroying themselves for years. But we never knew what to say." Technology is destroying the families. Parents have no idea who their kids are because they're surrounded in material possessions and media. Advertisers and networks have become your family now. Recreational drugs are a thing of the past, my friend. Nowadays you're nobody if youre not dedicated to a cause. And the best way to go down is an overdose. Because at least your friends will remember how hard you could party. On the contrary, your friends aren't even your friends. Sorry for the harsh slap in the face.
When was the last time you bonded with your parents? What was the last interesting conversation you had with them about? Or did you just watch TV together while you ate dinner? When was the last time you thought deeply about anything? Why don't you believe in God? What was the last thing you've felt so passionate about that you felt you needed to fight for it? Was it an idea, or was it all about who's saying what about you? When was the last time you thought about who you are as a person? At what moment did you decide that you no longer want to live for yourself but instead cling desperately to someone you think you love? When did you give up?
