This is what actually happened.
Every Spring Weekend for the past few years the school has brought some sort of crappy rap artist to Storrs for the concert (Not to say that I think rap is crappy. As all of you know, I am a big rap fan. Hip Hop: One Love). Unfortunately, there aren't that many rap fans up at UConn. So, after an onslaught of complaints, they scheduled Guster and OAR to play this Spring Weekend. I can only imagine some sort of reparations will be forthcoming.
I don't want to imply that UConn is in any way racist; however, sometimes they do try a bit too hard. Much like the well-intentioned person who quickly enumerates his or her black friends to counter any charges of being racist, or the out of touch boss that attempts to fit in by using the hip new slang.
I'm sure UConn means well.
