if your friend will be here sunday, the great fantastic is playing at Sin 13 at 4:30pm. If you both are 21+ , you guys can go to PATSY'S ICE House. it's a hole in the wall type bar close to SAC, but they have live bands on fridays, and the beer is $1.50. it's crappy, there's old metal dudes, but its the place to be. modest mouse is hitting austin...so that's another thing.
visitors seem to like the riverwalk. not so much that crappy, long-ass boat ride, but walking around and checking out the scenery. if you have a bunch of friends (which i dont at the moment *insert sad face here*) you can cause hella-lot of mischief at night on the riverwalk. everything is abandoned for the day, and piggy-back ride races are always cool.
i think the comedy club is still free on saturdays, but there's a one drink minimum. when i went there a few years back i got a lot of $1.50 schnaps.
