Some more studies.
Some rougher ones...
Don't worry, I'm not only focusing on faces :) That was just the start really. I'm really trying to buckle down and study everything I can. But the rest of my practice sketches are actually done using charcoal and pencil. They're kind of boring so I won't be posting them here until I find something interesting I guess.
I got accepted into the Academy of Art University for their Animation and Visual Effects Grad program. :) I'm very excited.
I know some of you might be wondering why I haven't chosen some fine art program. And believe me, it's been a heck of a time deciding. It really came down to the fact that fine art defines a large circle, but animation and visual effects is more specialized. I want to work for games, I want to work for movies, I want to be in that industry. My interest is so rooted in the digital that I can't ignore the benefits of really learning about the technology and the process that goes behind it.
I want to do concept art, I want to expand my repertoire into matte painting. All those things intrigue me so much. I'm pretty confident that I will be taking art courses as much as I can, and perhaps even those from a better art institution (like Art Center or RISD) in the future.
Anyways, in the current moment, I'm buried under the delicious process of filing out financial aid. Wish me luck! :P
