Dear WOBC:

Could you please explain to me why you would give someone who specifically states on the application that they go to work at 6 AM every weekday morning a 2 to 3 AM radio spot on a Wednesday that he couldn't attend under any circumstances? If you had at least taken a look at Jamie and my potential schedule, you would have seen that we were unable to attend any hours besides ten to midnight . The boxes were unchecked for Wednesday 2A - 3A. According to your own statement on the application, an unchecked box means that "I can't/I have an obligation at this time." As an upstanding member of 3 years at WOBC, I feel insulted that so little attention was paid to the details of my application.

I would appreciate an explanation.

I'm going to give Lady Jamie a little ranting space, 'cause she needs to get this off her chest:

I am sick and tired of the bullshit nepotism that occurs in this radio station. There is absolutely no respect for members who dedicate their time and fucking enthusiasm to get shit done and perform ALL of their obligations and sometimes more. Especially when the "par-for-the-course" is a station member who calls in subs only once in a while when missing a show and leaves alcoholic beverage bottles around along with limitless volumes of other shit. The station Board reps barely care. Last semester it took Colin MONTHS to get a key for the studio B available to the DHFS staff. One of the engineers wo honestly tried his best quit because it was too frustrating. I admire him.
It all comes down to the fact that I was excited to be a part of one of the best (or so they used to say) college radio stations in the country. I was going to do a show with Jamie that would allow us to showcase some of the great new bands from the Ohio-Western PA area as well as personal favorites. Instead of respecting our time commitments they give themselves and their friends the prime-time (apparently) that we deserve. That's bad business and I won't stand for it. -Jamie F
