ARTICLE FROM THE ASBURY PARK PRESS:

"BERKELEY - An autopsy will be performed Friday to determine the identity and cause of death
of a man found washed ashore from Barnegat Bay on the western shore of Island Beach State Park earlier today, said Capt. Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

A beach walker found the body about 5 p.m. today and alerted authorities of the discovery, which was about a half-mile from the entrance of the park, Mohel said.

The State Police are investigating with Berkeley Township Police. Lacey Police were also requested to assist in the investigation. Lt. John Mount of the prosecutor's major crimes unit assisted.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Vipul Parikh, of the Ocean County Medical Examiners Office.

Although the man had not been positively identified, authorities notified the next of kin of a man who has been missing since Dec. 6, Mohel said.

Dwight L. Brennan, 58, has been missing and presumed drowned following an accident in which his truck plunged into the Oyster Creek off Route 9 in Lacey. Authorities did an extensive underwater search, to no avail.

Dr. Haskell Askin, a forensic dentist from Brick, will assist in examining dental records of the man found today, Mohel said."

~ Part of me is hoping it's not Whitey.  Then I can continue holding on to that little bit of hope that he's still alive somewhere.  The other part hopes it is him, just so there can finally be some closure.  I'm not stupid... I know he's not out there alive somewhere, but the not having found him allows myself and everyone else to keep hoping that he is.

Guess we'll all find out when they get the autopsy results back.

*We all still miss you Whitey!  <3*
