Fuck yeah!!
Oh my god Im SOOOO excited!! A big real life hurricane is coming right for us, it is going to be so fucking AWESOME!!!! Is apparently going to come over miami early weds morning and track up the length of florida. The university is shutting down from tomorrow indefinitely which is also most exciting cus it means free days off work : D - free days off work and a giant storm, what more could a girl want! On a more practical level I hope it isnt too bad as we are on the ground floor and thus may be swimming by this time wednesday. Am also hoping that the patio doors dont explode inwards - was going to tape them up but apparently thats completely useless, will just have to move things like the tv out of their vicinity I guess.
We have stockpiled beer which is obviously the most essential item in times of crisis. Goldie car has been filled up with "gas" (lets hope he doesnt float away or have anything fall on him) and we have 3 laptops with full batteries to provide us with entertainment during the black out. What else do we need.... oh yeah about 20 gallons of water too and a neat little camping stove with which to cook instant noodles by candle light. Going without a/c is going to completely suck though, although Im sure it will be worth it to be able to watch such a huge storm.
Lets just hope everyone gets to enjoy the storm and noone gets blown to death, although the level of stupidness of miami people is such Im sure there will be some "incidents". Last year someone got killed because they were driving their car in the middle of the hurricane and got blown off a bridge, despite the monumental number of warnings telling everyone to stay put. There were also huge lines for FEMA hadning out free bottles of water, despite the fact that the water in the taps was absolutely fine. I hate miami people theyre such a bunch of cunts.
