I never really explained what i do over here, so i thought i'd clue you all in so you don't think i run around with a gun searching for insurgents to cap off...

I am a 25B, which is an Information Systems Analyst/Operator/Maintaner. I upgrade, repair, install computer and neworking hardware and software. i'm a computer repai guy and a network engineer/administrator in lamens terms. Luckily computers always break and since we're new here, we have networks of phones and computer to set up on two servers; a nonsecure (NIPRnet) and a secure (SIPRnet) server. I love doing my job, and i do it pretty damn good. The unfortunate part is that I DO my job pretty well. I'm the most knowledgable bravo (thats what we're called, just Bravos) in the brigade and so i've had to take on the biggest projects and i've become noticed by the higher ups. So when anything goes wrong, everyone comes and finds me to come fix it. Which isn't always a bad thing, but when someone comes to me cuz they can't check their email, i get kinda irritated, especially when they know that we are upgrading th network making room for more users, or that we have communication blackout. so all day every day i run all over our prt of the base fixing bad ports, or trouble shooting why an Analog Telephone Adapter isn't picking up an IP address when it's supposed to. I am usually prety tired att he end of the day (thats where you come in honey. nothing relaxes me more than chttig with you) but i know that i did what i set out to do and that when i wake up there will e more to do.

for a while i was tired of doing so much work and not getting anything out of it aside from ppl happy i enabled them to search google for photos of dogs, or whatever. One day i walked into an office to fix a port when this staff sergeant was like "GREGORY! so you're the man that makes it happen. i've heard about you" it made me feel good to know that ppl talk about the work i do. and a lot of people want to recommend me for Army Commodation Medals. It's not the same as getting overtime, but being noticed doing my job well loks good when it's time to get waiver to E4, or even E5 when the time comes.

so there is the jist of what i am doing over here. eventually i'll be working on my CPN, but that isn't til we get a mission. here are some pics of the equipment i will be in charge of maintaining once we get word to head out and set up communications for another unit
