Burning rubber while still going somewhere.

I have made arrangements with the man who has the 1969 Ford Mustang 302 V8 Coupe to meet him in Athens Saturday at 4 and buy his car for $1500. I will need some repairs fairly soon and other than that, I want to get a weekend job to pay for improvements. I convinced my parents to let me get the car which needs some brake work, engine work and front end work. It does not have AC, but I know I can work around that. And I can work out a solution to the stereo situation too. The fuel gauge does not work. I do not know why, but for now I will just have to try and remember when I filled up last and go on faith. It does have lap belts, but I am seriously considereing getting racing harnesses (I will call them safety harnesses around my parents) to make me feel safer/ more bold. I know that I will love the car no matter what, and I am seriously considering keeping the car as long as I can in life making it better and better when possible. Don't worry, I won't marry it, but this is a serious high school relationship which I can maintain through college because I can easily fix things in this relationship. I have always wanted a Mustang of that era and I feel alittle more at ease with a car that is not a perfect show car. I would be paranoid about breaking the engine or wrecking/ scratching the car. Don't get mad at me if I deny you a ride for about a month. First of all, I need to leave in the shop for an indefinate abount of time and secondly, I still cannot legally drive people outside of my family until December 15th. Don't worry, I will take all of my friends for a ride whether they want to or not. As David says, just go with it. The man said that the insurance for it is not much at all, but I know that I will burn alot of gas. (Which makes me worry alittle about the fact that the fuel gauge doesn't work. Maybe it is just a cable or the gauge itself.) I am so excited and I can barely wait until Saturday afternoon, but I can still look forward to Kate's party. My dad pulled out a suprise costume for me. It won't be as funny as Trevor and Chris', but I think it is a good costume. Today was a good day, but I need to get more sleep tonight. I don't have to take care of the dogs, but I will in a week for over a week which should net me about $100-150. I am getting $100 from him tonight for last week. I have many pages to do befoe I go to sleep. Actually just one Anatomy sheet and an english poem.
