Traveling in Spain has been a wonderful experience. I have visited the roots of my ancestry and have come to understand Cuban culture from a primordial sense as a large majority of Cubans migrated from the Canary Islands to Cuba centuries ago. I see the influence and customs of my people reflected in the local barrios of San Jose where old men and women play dominoes on the sidewalk overlooking the vast ocean which surrounds these seven islands. over the sea. I see the architecture of Havana in the streets of Las Palmas. I hear the accents and words spoken by Cubans in Miami and can trace them here.
Tomorrow I fly to Barcelona for a week before returning to the Canary Islands and then wrapping up in Madrid.
So many introspective and positive experiences in such a short amount of time. Like I have always imparted to others... keep moving around. So true the statement "The Point Of The Journey Is Not To Arrive".
