Things that I can't do

Can't: sleep.
Can: download music.

Things that I have learned:
--M83's new album is, in fact, very good. I am probably a fool for trusting pitchfork when they said that the old stuff was better. Pitchfork always says that!
--Sufjan Stevens is delightful. I suspected as much!
--Sexy Boy by Air is like the best song ever basically (already knew; reaffirmed.)
--I am listening to Sondre Lerche next. I will probably like him as well.

I think the M83's new stuff is possibly more deserving of the My Bloody Valentine comparison than the old stuff. I don't know, though-- the technique is the same but the way they got to the technique is so different. Analog versus digital-- to me, even if the "sound washes" are in effect the same thing, the place where the artist is coming from is so vastly different that it doesn't really matter. They are two completely seperate things (I love both of them-- I understand that some people think differently.)

(Yeah looks like I like Sondre Lerche.)

Here is a dream that I had a couple of nights ago and wrote about elsewhere. I'll copy and paste it here, in blockquotes!

i don't remember quite why i did it, but i pressed a button that ensured that the universe would be destroyed within the next 24 hours. that night i sat outside and just watched everything get destroyed.

it was actually pretty beautiful. i had a garden thing in the front of the house that was walled off, and i filled it with hot water and watched the stars pop out of existence. the dimmer, farther away ones exploded first, and the brighter ones were gone within the next couple of hours. i sat, at the end of the dream, looking at a sky with nothing but the moon in it, waiting for that to go so that i could prepare myself for my death. the ground started shaking, and i realized that i was going to die.

the building behind me collapsed, trapping me under the warm water, and after the initial panic of not being able to fill my lungs, i managed to sooth myself and die pretty happy.

then i woke up and i ate a microwaved hamburger.
dreams are pretty weird.

I'm not trying to say that's super meaningful or anything, but I think it would make a pretty boss music video, you know? Maybe claymation style, like that old Kenna video that was basically the best video ever. Kenna is good too, I like them.

Here is a song that I wrote a while ago. It is about Kelso, Washington. It will also go in block quotes!

If it smells like somebody just let a giant fart you're in...
KELLLLLLLLLLLLLLSO
If it feels like someones trying to suck the life out of your heart you're in...
KELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLSO
Oh, Kellllllllso
The place we all admire!
For it's the only place in the world
with less charm than a deadly fire!

There is a lot of clapping and jazz-hands that you need to get the full effect of that song.

I got some Decemberists off of Cody, but the files appear to be messed up. I hope this is not the case with all of the stuff I got from him (I am excited to listen to the full Ugly Cassanova cd.)

Goodbye!
