Electioneering

I need to vent.

Back when the 2008 Presidential election was going on, I was very much more for Clinton than I was for Obama. I voted for Clinton in the primary, because I thought she was the type of the person that we needed in this terrible economic climate. She seemed to be a person that would take charge, command respect, and lead us to better times. I still think that she'd be capable of that.

I voted for Obama for the Presidency, but I was a bit wary. Would he able to fix everything that Bush had put us through?

Truth be told, Obama has performed quite better than I expected him to. There is more on the healthcare reform that I agree with than disagree with, and I respect that he's doing something to change healthcare over nothing.

That being said, I'm not sure why people are so upset with him. What were they expecting when he was elected? He is the President, not God. He is limited by the Constitution. A large part of his Presidency has been cleaning up the messes that Bush caused: two wars abroad, a ruined economy, and a damaged education system. And that's only the stuff I can think of off the top of my head.

Look, President Obama has not been perfect. No President is. But, how can you argue that he's been a bad President? I could very well be mistaken, but I found little record of any President doing this backyard tour before. It's a great way to talk directly to the people.

My biggest fear? The racism. Far too many people are using proxy terms to describe the President to mask their racism.

This country needs to wake up. Maybe our political idiocy has some connection to our low rank in education in post-developed countries.
